It is the story of a boy called Tarun. He was a mediocre student and it describes the way how a mediocre boy faces the everyday problems and comes out of the pit.
This wonderful story explores Tarun's life, a talented athlete whose abilities his family failed to recognize. Tarun, feeling lost and unwanted, lived a miserable childhood until he met Ram Narayan, a well-known coach. He thought that Tarun could become an athlete from the first experience.
Ram Narayan decided to train Tarun on a single condition, which is that Tarun had to qualify in the Children's Day race. Tarun was very optimistic in winning the race. So he agreed to take part in the race.
It was 14th of November. After getting blessings from his mother, Tarun peddled away to the stadium. Participants lined up for the event. Tarun caught sight of his mother in the stands, and he got confidence. Tarun was the fastest runner, but he slipped along a shallow path on the track and fell down. Tarun did not know what to do. He heard his mother screaming at him to get up and run.
Tarun rose and ran. Surprisingly he overtook a couple of participants and fell a second time, then a third time. Even Ram Narayan shouted at Tarun to run. When the race was over, however, a boy named Pawan won the race.
But the crowd grew proud of Tarun who crossed the finishing line last because of his determination and valour for not giving up. Ram Narayan too was proud of training Tarun on account of his tireless, repeated attempts even after having fallen thrice.
